New Year Resolutions - Schmesolutions?

Do you take stock of your past year and resolve to do things differently when the new year starts? I'll admit, I do. In fact, as I'm sitting here contemplating drinking one of my favorite guilty pleasures: Rockstar, I'm simultaneously thinking--I HAVE to stop drinking these.

Why? Well, a friend just told me a sick story about how a case of busted RSs ( as we call them in my house ) ate through an entire pallet at a grocery store in 15 minutes! Yikes! That makes me wonder if I'm going to have an Alienesque experience here any second with Rockstar gushing from my gut.

I have lots of things I'd like to see happen this year. Here are a few:

The proverbial last 20 lbs. Used to be 10, but writing has added another thick layer to my thighs and butt. Yeah, I'd like to blast off the fat once and for all this next year.

I'd like to find a fabu agent for my next YA novel. I've had two fabu agents ( years back ) before I went indie, it's time to try this again.

Those are the two you can hold me to this year. I want to hear yours. Come on, you're amongst friends here, fess up and tell me.

I'll send everyone who posts new years resolutions a little surprise. Send me your mailing addy via my email link on the sidebar!

Read and let read~

I want to finish my short story and send it to a publisher. Not for the hopes of actually getting it published, but being able to say I actually finished it. :)

This past year my resolution was to be awesome and I think I did ok with it. I think my goal is to going try to learn to not stress over things I can't control.

I don't really do resolutions, but yet there are things that I'd like to do. I need to lose some weight too and while I already changed a lot in the past 6 months (went vegan, drink kombucha everyday) I really want to be able to stick with it.
Good luck with yours! And yes, you really need to stop drinking rockstars! Yikes! Try kombucha instead, you may be shocked at how much better you feel and it still gives you that extra energy boost (though I'm not sure it'll be as much as a rockstar...).

I have lots of New Year resolutions!

-Finding a job. well, that doesn't depen only on me, but I'm working hard on it!

-Starting a book blog in my language. I'll probably talk months in advance about books that are not yet translated or will probably not even be translated, but I wannna share some pretty good titles that don't arrive here.

-Making up my mind about the Master I'd love to do but it's way to expensive. Sigh

-Stay healthy. Which, in my case, means eating. I had food-related issues and it's about time I start feeling confortable about food.

-Read a lot! i read 200 books this year and planning to read as much next year.

That's pretty much all!

I was just sitting down and working on resolutions for this year. I've honestly never set any for myself, but I'm the type of person that if I put it in writing I tend to actually do it. Sooo *fingers crossed*

I just have two:
*Write at least 1000 words a week. Doesn't sound like much really, BUT finding the time to do it...I figure if I do that then by the end of the year I'll have a book. Or close to it. I used to write a lot. Things got busy...slowed down, now I barely get any done. The thing is once I write those 1000 words each week I keep writing. At least that's my hope.

*Get healthier. I need to lose weight, but getting healthier is my main goal. If I shed a few pounds (and I will!) then bonus points!

I think your resolutions are realistic and achievable. Mine are resolutions I've been trying to work on all this year, but still haven't got down to...

Resolution 1: Learn how to cook and bake
Resolution 2: Practice my driving and get a car
Resolution 3: Since this is (hopefully) my last year of study, I should learn to loosen up and live a little.

There are a whole load more, but I can't really commit to so many in one year so I'll just stick to these three for now:)

My new years resolution is to stop shopping so much (kinda a shopaholic!) and to not procrastinate on homework and projects. I will be starting that resolution next year until then I do not feel like writing that paper!

My new years resolution is to gain 10 pounds, gain more confidence & finish two stories I've been working on for a while. I'd like to get back to writing like when I was in college.

Your goals are definitely realistic and I really hope you achieve them!

My resolutions are:

-Lose some weight. I'm not really sure how much would be healthy. All my life I've had food-related problems. My lowest weight was in the 70s when I was a teenager. But now I'm truly overweight (which is a strange, strange transition) and I want to get healthy. I want to get healthy without going overboard and sinking into that disease again.

-Finish my book. That means rewriting and editing at this point.

-Finally, I'm getting married in October. I want to learn how to not stress what doesn't need to be stressed!

Hi Jennifer!! Great resolutions!

I have 3 that I really want to complete:

-Find a job in my field. I have been graduated from University almost a year and haven't really been trying to find something that suits me. Time to pull up my socks and get at it.

-I want to lose some weight. I am about 30lbs overweight. Don't get me wrong, I like being curvy but I think for my health I need to get a few pounds off my tummy!

-Read more books than I did last year! :)

Great topic to get people sharing!!

The new year started and I have some things I wish to do, like being happy all day, start on nurse university quickly, stop using the computer so much(actually, I am already doing this), going out with my friends to watch movies, travel extensively and have a new cell phone. :) I can not forget to say that in 2012, I wan to meet one of my favorite writers: you! :)
I hope you can do everything you want to, Jenn. :)
I love you so much!
