#BookTrailers Love Them or Dislike Them?

I usually create a book trailer for each book. They're fun and fit in my budget, and, with a new book coming out this year, I'm in production for a book trailer right now and yesterday, I read a blogger's post about the good, bad and ugly about book trailers from a readers' POV.

Do you like book trailers? Hate them? Post your book trailer thoughts and a link to your fav book trailer (s) and be entered to win a surprise pack from me.

I'm anxious to hear what you think AND see what you love - or hate - for that matter ( though hate's a strong word I dislike using ) but you get the idea.

Read and let read~

I love book trailers, well most of them. But I always like seeing books that have them and always find myself disappointed when they don't. For YA fiction, that is.

Some trailers I like with actors/models, but if they don't look like the characters as I envisioned them in my head, it sometimes affects my enjoyment.

I very much like this trailer for Spells by Aprilynne Pike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5sJ16a9Xb4

But my latest favorite trailer is of Immortal City by Scott Speer which is done like a film trailer but suits the book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQPlS8afzGs

I don't mind narration in a trailer as long as it's not in the "voice" of one of the characters. Often the voices used in the trailers are abrasive.

And music of some kind is always a must. Preferably instrumental.

Having a trailer sort of rounds out the package IMO. And as long as it's not an advert more than a trailer or a really poorly made trailer, I very much appreciate the effort taken.

I can't link to my fave book trailer as I don't have one.

I don't have internet at home, so I use the library. There are headphones available but even so, it's a nuisance and sometimes other patrons still complain about the noise level. Plus, the computer is only available for an a hour so I have to prioritize.

If I did have net access at home, I probably still wouldn't be a fan of book trailers. They're basically commercials and there hasn't been a book trailer or tv commercial yet that had me read or seek out a book that I wasn't already interested in. Plus, I tend to skip commercials whenever possible and as I said, a book trailer is really just a commercial.

Book trailers are just not my thing.

I personally don't really like them. I rarely watch them. I'm weird but the only ones I like are the ones without people in them. I don't like to go into a book with a character image already in my head. I like to be able to picture them based on descriptions and my imagination. But I know some people really like them.

Hi Jennifer !

I like book trailers. I don't need a fully synopsis because they are usually spoiler-y. I feel like book trailers give you the right amount of info. If you do it strategically, you don't always have to show faces. My two favorite are Sarah Dessen's Along for The Ride and Jessica Spotswood's Born Wicked :

I'm really picky with book trailers.
Even Fiktshun has her own feature where she shares all the book trailers she has found for a certain period of time and that is the only one post on her blog I usually never visit or check out for that matter...
But from time to time, specially with some of the authors whose books I read first back in the day, comes a book trailer from a book that I have been awaiting impatiently.

I love when they aren't spoilery and when they have a voice describing whats going on in favor of just text on it.
And I also love when they have unique music on their backgrounds.

But again...as I said, I'm picky. I never go out searching for book trailers. Never. But if one is being buzzed enough about or if it's from an author I love I definitely will check it out and most likely share it.

I didn't know you had book trailers for all your books until last year...you were doing a 'Share the trailer' Giveaway and I saw the most awesome thing! You had the same people starring for the book trailers I saw...I was COMPLETELY in love with the trailers!
So if you're going to be coming up with one be sure I'll check it out :D

And for my favorite book trailer...
I have 2 that are from the same book :D
This is one->
And here's the other one

I really love book trailers. I always get attracted to them and when I finish reading the book and watch the book trailer again, I'm so happy to see that the story is pretty cool and the concept of the book is really good in book trailers. And I love seeing my favorite characters are real, even if they are in book trailers. Like "Season of Eden". I read first and watched book trailer after. And I also think that with them, the writers can showcase their talent in writing. :) Now I am excited to see your new book trailer!
My favorites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOoZk3pcYT8 (The Body Finder in portuguese)

and "Season of Eden": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTHH4E1VZGg.

I love you so much!Kisses from your big fan from Brazil
